Some federal agencies use their own systems to accept and review proposals for potential funding.  Fibi is still required for both JHURA and School of Medicine Research Administration Offices both to ensure all sponsor and university requirements are met, and to authorize the submission of a project to these agencies.

Workspace

The Application Submission System & Interface for Submission Tracking (ASSIST) system is used to prepare and submit applications electronically to NIH and other Public Health Service agencies.  Active Grants.gov and eRA Commons credentials are required to prepare and submit applications using ASSIST.

Workspace is the standard way for organizations or individuals to apply for federal grants in Grants.gov. Workspace allows a grant team to simultaneously access and edit different forms within an application. Plus, the forms can be filled out online or offline — your choice.

Several external agencies require users to create accounts and require an authorization that must be granted by Johns Hopkins.

Department of Defense (DOD)

Process

User requests an account at DOD as an Account Administrator in the eBRAP system.   Please be sure to use a JHU email address for the request.

Authorization

ORIS staff receive an email requesting review for approval/rejection.

Research.gov (NSF)

Process

Users must contact their grants associate to request an account at research.gov.
